Day 1 : Movement Control Order

Nobody could ever imagine that in Year 2020, the COVID-19 is getting serious. Malaysia Government announced that from 18 March until 31 March 2020, the whole country will implement the Movement Control Order. I think this is the best way to control the virus from spreading to one another. At least, it is not like a total lockdown and people are still allowed to go out to takeaway foods and some of the shops dealing with daily essentials are still open.

Due to this implementation, a lot has to work from home. I have to work from home too. As a Marketing Officer, I have to handle the customer inquiries through WhatsApp, Email and In-coming Phone Call.

My first day working from home is as usual, carrying out my tasks. Work from 8.30am to 5.30pm. The only big differences is that my mother is beside me. As usual, as a Mother loving her Daughter, she will start preparing food and drinks for me. She will also talk to me. So, while I am working, I have to answer and communicate with her as well. Anyway, this did not affect my work.

She is also very understanding. Usually, she will watch YouTube but just now when I asked her why she did not watch TV the whole day, she said that it might be too noisy and worried that I cannot concentrate on my work. Also, she does not want the noise too loud when I am talking to the customers through calls.

Somehow, I feel that it is good too that my mother is beside me. I feel that I have more time for her compare that I have to leave my home early in the morning to avoid the traffic jam then I return home late. I don't even have much time to talk to her or eat at a same dinning table with her. Although it is really worrying due to the COVID-19 situation, but I took this opportunity to be with my mother. My father had left me since November 2019 due to lung got infected because he was a dialysis patient. My mother is the only one left with me. I want to spend more time with her and she is getting old.

While I am working at home and kind of feel safe rather than expose myself outside, I thought of those Doctors, Nurses and those working in the medical line or in the hospital who are so close to the COVID-19 patients. They are risking their life to save them. I wish and I pray to God that, please take good care of them. Please protect them. They are so Great and Brave. I Salute All Of You. My salute to you cannot just express through words. In order not to bring more trouble to them, I will follow the Movement Control Order implemented by the Government. Wish that this crisis will end soon.
