I seldom watch drama / movie from China due to my limitation of understanding Chinese Language. However, this time, I came across with this Drama through YouTube. The Chinese is not like those Beijing Slang, I still could understand it. As I watched, I feel that this Drama is very meaningful and worth to watch. It is more towards related to communication in family and relationship rather than too focus on love. This drama have stories of few families.
One is about Deng Jiaqi's (acted by 杜淳) love relationship and communication with his family. Due to his communication breakdown with his parents, he agreed to marry He Fei Er (acted by 马伊琍) whereby it is an arranged marriage by their parents. Although it is an arrange marriage, He Fei Er agreed because she falls in love with him. But for Deng Jiaqi, due to pleasing his parents, his action had hurt his wife since day one. His mind only think of his lover Bai Xiaoou (acted by 董璇 ) (whom his parents disagreed).
When his ex purposely post in social media that she was engaged, Deng Jiaqi deactivate his MSN & QQ, thinking that he will not have chance anymore and attention started to put at He Fei Er. However, at the end, Bai Xiaoou unable to forgets him and return to Beijing, with the excuse of representing her company to discuss on the film projects. The communication break down between Deng Jiaqi and parents had caused more problems to both girls who willing to sacrificed and love him deep. He Fei Er has to pretend and act in front of his parents and when he moved to the company Bungalow to focus and write scripts, He Fei Er has to rushed to the house to pretend staying there when his mother came to spot check. Bai Xiaoou was left outside and unable to return. Then there are more and more issues that caused by him as one lies come after another in front of his mother. But in the end, he realized that he actually fall in love with He Fei Er and Bai Xiaoou is not the one that he is searching for as a wife.
The part about Deng Jiaqi, is meaningful for viewer to watch and to notice and reflect in reality. Sometimes, in life, especially Asian Parents. Children tend to listen to the parents and parents refused to listen to their children. They always think that their arrangements are the best and is for their own good without thinking of their children feelings. Even though the arrangement may be the best, just like Deng Jiaqi parents found He Fei Er as his wife which in the end, he also thinks that is suitable and fall for him, but in the early part, his parents did not explain to him properly and have proper discuss. Every time, will be ending up instructing and force. Moreover, his mother, whenever got too emotional, she will get heart attack. Although anyone have sickness, it is very pity for them but parents shouldn't use this as a tools to threaten their children to follow their instruction. In this drama, Deng Jiaqi, is a filial son. He keeps on worried that his mother will strike with heart attack and admit to the hospital, so he keeps on follow his mother instruction and repressed his feelings and dare not to voice out. All these had turned out to keep on hurting the 2 girls who falls for him.
Love is Blind as what others said but actually love is not Blind but it is more about Hope. He Fei Er and Bai Xiaoou put the Hope that Deng Jiaqi will accept them and follow them. So, both turned out to do whatever that could grab his attention and in the end got hurt. In the end, in order to sacrifice, both stepped back. He Fei Er agreed to divorce while Bai Xiaoou leave him but before that , she will helps him to complete the script for his future. In reality, there are girls, not matter how the guy that they love treat her or maybe betray her, they will forgives. Forgives is not because the girl is stupid but putting a high hope that situation will turned better and everything will be back to normal.
